Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown Visits Northern Ontario for 10th Time in a Year

QUEEN’S PARK – Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli, today toured parts of Northern Ontario.  This is the 10th time in the last year that Brown has visited the North.  “Northern Ontario is an important part of our province that is too often forgotten or taken for granted,” said Brown.  “I have heard many examples of the lack of interest shown by the current Liberal government in Northern issues, and it is yet another sign of their abdication of responsibility in addressing the needs of the province today. Ontarians deserve less talk and more action.”

During the day, Brown and Fedeli took part in a helicopter tour of a portion of the Ring of Fire with representatives of NORONT Resources.  “The Ring of Fire should be at the centre of any economic plan for Northern Ontario,” said Brown.  “However, to be successful there needs to be strong provincial leadership that is committed to working with business and local communities to build the necessary infrastructure.  And this leadership doesn't currently exist.”

Fedeli pointed out that over their 12 years in government, the Liberals have mismanaged the economy and “have completely ignored the value the Ring of Fire contains.”

Brown noted that “this may be my first visit as Ontario PC Leader – but I promise you, it is the first of many.”
