Statement from Chatham-Kent-Essex MPP Rick Nicholls on the closure of Enviroshake in Chatham

“I was sad to learn that Enviroshake would be closing down its Chatham plant. This will certainly have an impact on our community. I hope action is taken to help the 50 affected employees find another job.

“Unfortunately, the reality is that it is tough to find good-paying manufacturing jobs in Ontario anymore. Under the Liberals, Ontario has lost more than 350,000 manufacturing jobs because companies no longer see Ontario as open for business.

Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the University of Windsor's Law School Expansion

"Today I was disappointed to learn that the Wynne Liberals have backed away from a project for the University of Windsor that has been in the works for half a decade. I am a proud graduate of the Windsor law school and it's hard not to recognize that an expansion into a larger facility would be a significant boost for the university and the city. 

"What is particularly disappointing is that the Wynne Liberals have mismanaged provincial funds and created such a mess that they miss important projects like this that will create jobs, support local economies and boost education.
