Heard at Queen’s Park: Out of touch Wynne Liberal MPP refers to Northern Ontario as “No Man’s Land”

Yesterday, during an important speech by PC MPP Norm Miller on Northern Ontario, Liberal member Lou Rinaldi, speaking off camera, heckled the speaker and referred to the region as “No Man’s Land.” He was immediately taken to task by PC MPP Sam Oosterhoff on the floor of the legislature.

Since facing backlash at Queen’s Park, Rinaldi admitted making the statement but says he was attacking Vic Fedeli’s comments. It’s a puzzling excuse given that Norm Miller, not Vic Fedeli, was speaking at the time.

Ontario PC MPP Calls for a Crackdown on Illegal Opioid-Production Machines

Queen’s Park — Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Michael Harris will be joined by Opioid awareness advocate 19-year-old Leila Attar at Queens Park today in support of Bill 126, the Illegal Pill Press Act. The bill would enforce fines and imprisonment for anyone illegally possessing or using a pill press machine to produce counterfeit opioids.

MPP Oosterhoff calls on the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care to Keep Long-Term Care Beds in Niagara

Today Niagara West-Glanbrook MPP Sam Oosterhoff called on Minister Hoskins to protect long-term care beds in Niagara.

“Revera Long-Term Care is planning to move 50 beds out of Kilean Lodge in Grimsby, down the QEW to Hamilton,” charged Oosterhoff in the Legislature this morning. He then shared the story of Adrian Peters, a retired engineer from Caistor Centre who will be unable to visit his wife daily if she is sent to Hamilton.
