CLARK REPEATS CALL FOR AUDIT BEFORE PAN AM BONUSES PAID OUT

QUEEN’S PARK – Today in Question Period, Ontario PC Tourism, Culture and Sport Critic MPP Steve Clark stood up for Ontario taxpayers by repeating his demand for a full audit of the Pan Am Games before the Liberal government rewards Games executives with lavish bonuses.

“Where I come from, you don’t pay a bonus without proof it was earned,” Clark told the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “Speaker, if the Minister is so confident Games executives delivered, why oppose being accountable and transparent by having an independent audit before cutting these cheques?”

Yurek Questions Liberal Health Minister on Additional Cuts to Pharmacy Services

This morning, Ontario PC Health Critic Jeff Yurek (Elgin-Middlesex-London) questioned the Minister of Health & Long-Term Care over the cuts being made to pharmacy services effective October 1st.

“Minister, along with your cuts in nursing positions throughout the province and your $235 million cut to physician services, pharmacists will see a $150 million cut to their profession,” stated Yurek.  “Your government should look at better utilizing the skills of pharmacists to uncover cost savings in the health care system.”

Premier Must Take Responsibility and Make Health Care a Priority

Today during Question Period, Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown asked Premier Wynne why her government refuses to make health care a priority.

Leader Patrick Brown highlighted how cuts to health care have resulted in people from across the province and within Simcoe County seeing their CCAC services reduced or cut altogether, as well as the closure of Penetanguishene site of the Georgian Bay General Hospital.

Today, Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown questioned Premier Wynne in the Legislature regarding the criminal charges laid against key Liberal operative Gerry Lougheed Jr.

“Now that charges have been laid – will the Premier set the record straight?” said Leader Patrick Brown. “Did the Premier instruct either Pat Sorbara or Gerry Lougheed Jr. to offer Andrew Olivier a job or appointment in exchange for staying out of the Sudbury by-election?”

Liberals Continue to Punish Patients With Cuts to Physician Fees

Today during Question Period, Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown asked Premier Wynne why her government continues to punish patients by slashing physician service fees.

The Liberal Government has cut $580 million from physician services as a punishment for not agreeing to the government’s deal.   In addition, as of October 1, 2015, the Ministry will impose an additional estimated $235 million in cuts to physician services payments.
