Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the Attacks in Egypt

“I strongly condemn the despicable attacks against Egyptians, including children, who were gunned down as they were riding a bus to a monastery near Minya, Egypt.

“Coptic Christians continue to suffer, as shown by the attacks in Alexandria, Tanta, Nag Hammadi, Sole and many others.

“The persecution and killing of Christians in Egypt must stop. Freedom of religion is a fundamental right.

“I offer sincere condolences to the families of those who perished. Egyptian authorities must not relent until the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“My prayers are with the people of Egypt and with the Coptic community in Ontario. We must continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with all who confront terrorism.”
