Statement from Ontario PC Leader and Education Critic Patrick Brown on World Teachers’ Day

“Each year on October 5th we celebrate the incredible work teachers do shaping our province’s young minds and future leaders. Ontario’s teachers go above and beyond, both inside and outside the classroom, often paying for school supplies out of their own pocket, and volunteering their own time for their students’ extra-curricular activities.

“Coming from a family of educators, I saw first-hand the hard work and dedication that goes into teaching. My mom spent countless hours marking and prepping her classwork, but she never minded, knowing that in the end, she was having a lasting impact on her students’ future. As a result, I learned at a very young age the value of our educators.

“I know that the choices we make in how we educate the next generation will have a lasting impact on our province’s economic future, because making investments in young minds pays dividends to society.

“An Ontario PC Government will value our education system and work side by side with Ontario’s educators in our shared quest for a more prosperous province and a better tomorrow.”
