Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Yom Kippur

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown marking Yom Kippur:

“Tonight marks the beginning of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism.  Jews in Ontario will gather with family and friends in synagogues to hear the chanting of Kol Nidre on this most solemn occasion. Yom Kippur is a time for prayer, fasting and repentance.

“Teshuva provides an opportunity to atone for the wrongdoings of the past year and allows us to look forward to a clean slate.

“We are fortunate to have such a vibrant and diverse community in Ontario.  Canadians of Jewish heritage have made and continue to make important contributions to our province.

“On behalf of the Ontario PC Party, I wish all who are observing this sacred day ‘G’mar Hatimah Tovah.’”
