Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak

“Today, we join with our Sikh friends across the province to celebrate the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Born in 1469, Guru Nanak lived a life of humility and fostered a thriving faith community that stands at over 27 million followers throughout the world. Regardless of what faith tradition one comes from, we can learn from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of service.

“Ontario’s Sikh community has contributed to the social, political, economic, and cultural development of our province and country. This celebration provides an opportunity for all Ontarians to learn more about our Sikh friends and neighbours, and to reflect on the numerous contributions they have made in our communities.

“I offer my best wishes for a joyous celebration!”
