Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the Nomination of Laurie Scott

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Laurie Scott as the Ontario PC candidate for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock:

“I congratulate Laurie Scott on her nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock.  I look forward to her continuing to be a part of our modern, inclusive, and pragmatic Progressive Conservative team

Laurie was born and raised in Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock, and has represented the community as their Member of Provincial Parliament for over a decade. Through this time Laurie has proven herself as a tireless advocate for her constituents, and I look forward to her continuing to serve her community with passion.

Laurie continues to do a terrific job serving as the Ontario PC Critic for Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade as well as Critic for Women’s Issues, where she has highlighted the urgent need to address human and sex trafficking happening right here in Ontario.

“After 13 years in power, life is harder under the Liberals. Skyrocketing hydro rates are unaffordable for both families and businesses. Cut after cut to health care services has meant more time waiting for care, and taxpayer dollars continue to be wasted with Liberal scandal after scandal.

“I look forward to working with Laurie to spread the Ontario PC Party’s message of a stronger and more prosperous province.”
