Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the Anniversary of Kuwait’s Liberation

“Twenty six years ago, Canada helped to liberate Kuwait during the first Gulf War.  Our nation sent a three-ship naval task group (consisting of HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Terra Nova and HMCS Protecteur), CF-188s and other air assets as part of Operation Friction.  The joint task force was commanded by St. Thomas’ own Commodore Kenneth Summers.

“Thank you to all Ontarians who served as part of the 4,000 strong Canadian Armed Forces contingent.

“Thank you to all Canadians who continue to proudly serve our country in our military.”
