David is committed to working with the members of our community to develop and implement a plan for a better Ontario that strives for a robust economy while respecting the environment; that is compassionate in nature and seeks prosperity and opportunity for all Ontarians; and finally, can deliver high quality health care and education while respecting fiscal realities.
David grew up in Port Hope where he attended elementary and secondary school. He and his family have strong roots in the community and his father, Reno, owns and operates a business in the community while his mother is an educator.
David has an honours degree from the University of Ottawa, where he earned a joint degree in Political Science and History. David embarked on a career with the Federal Public Service, first gaining experience as an International Market Analyst at Agriculture Canada promoting Ontario’s agriculture to global markets. He then transitioned to a position as a Policy Advisor at Service Canada. His next step was to the Office of the Minister of International Trade, working with the Hon. Ed Fast, where he contributed to key trade files, including the Canada-Europe Free Trade Agreement.
After leaving the Government, David took on a difficult challenge for the federal Conservative Party of Canada (CPC). He successfully won the nomination for the Ottawa Vanier CPC riding association and challenged a 20-year incumbent Liberal cabinet minister. David drew a large number of Conservative volunteers and successfully fundraised a record amount for the riding. David and his team knocked on 60,000+ doors over the course of 7 months.
In 2015 David was invited to join the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada where he has developed a deep understanding of health care issues affecting Ontarians. David’s portfolio includes providing strategic advice in regards to a full range of policy, business and operational issues pertaining to the Royal College’s international activities. He currently oversees and supports the development and implementation of critical projects around the globe.
David is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys Ontario’s natural wonders with Marie-Michelle and their dog and loyal friend, Max. He enjoys playing soccer in his spare time and got his first taste for the game playing with Northumberland United.
With his passion for serving Canadians, David has a depth of experience in public policy areas at all levels of government. He has tremendous experience in public service, international affairs with focuses on health care and education.
